How I made my own invites
10/08/2015
Are you planning a party? Need invitations? Why not make your own?
My son recently had his 7th birthday. While planning a party for him, I found it very difficult to find invitations for the Star Wars theme he wanted. I either didn't like the invites or they were too expensive. So, I decided to make my own. I wanted to use a picture of him in the Jedi costume I made him. I downloaded Star Wars fonts from here.
After I got my fonts, I opened the image I wanted to use in photoshop.
Then I selected the crop tool
Next, I made it wider by grabbing the side and dragging it over to where I wanted it.
Next, I selected the magic wand tool.
Now select the empty space by clicking on it.
Next, I wanted to fill in that empty space to match the back round. I went to the top menu bar and selected edit. In the drop down box, I selected fill.
In the box that pops up, I went to the drop down and selected content-aware.
Make sure the box for color adaptation is checked, then click OK.
Now it will fill in the empty space.
Now, click out side of the picture to deselect the magic wand tool.
Now you are ready for your text. Select the text, size and color you want, then start typing.
Once you are happy with it then save it and print it.
You can save some money by doing it yourself. Plus, you get exactly what you want.
